Orofar 1 mg, 24 tablets, Novartis

Orofar contains an antiseptic and an anesthetic.

It can be used as an adjuvant treatment in case of mouth and throat infections:

• sore throat associated with cold
• pharyngitis or laryngitis (with or without difficulty swallowing)
• small ulcers of the oral cavity and inflamed gums
• tonsillitis.

How to use:

• Adults: in the case of mild-moderate infections the recommended dose is 1 Orofar capsule at 2-3 hour intervals
• Allow the capsule to dissolve slowly in the oral cavity; in case of canker sores, the capsule is allowed to slowly dissolve in contact with the lesion. In case of severe infections, the dose can be increased to 1 capsule of Orofar at intervals of 1-2 hours, without exceeding 10 capsules of Orofar per day
• Children over 6 years: Orofar can be administered to children over 6 years of age, in smaller doses the dose of 6 Orofar capsules per day will not be exceeded
• Due to the inadequate dosage form, the drug is not recommended for children under 6 years of age
• If you have taken more capsules than you should, contact your doctor
• If you forget to take a dose, take another one as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose

Composition:

• The active ingredient is benzoxonium chloride 1 mg and lidocaine hydrochloride 1 mg
• The other components are: capsule contents: acesulfame potassium, aspartame, vegetable flavor 76634-34, mint flavor 79770-36, anhydrous citric acid, sodium chlorophyllin-copper, partially hydrolysed starch mixture, sorbitol and mannitol, 85% glycerol, gelatin, purified water; capsule: hypromellose, glycerol 85%.
