Shitake mushrooms are one of the most popular mushrooms in the world. They originate from East Asia and are prized for their rich and spicy taste. Although they occur naturally on rotting hardwood logs, in Asian cuisine they are treated similarly to regular vegetables. About 83% of shitake is grown in Japan, although the United States, Canada, Singapore and China also produce it.

The potency of the shitake mushroom

The active substances in shitake include: polysaccharides. These are carbohydrate molecules composed of long chains of smaller monosaccharides (simple sugars), linked by glycosidic bonds. These naturally occurring compounds perform a wide range of functions in nature, such as energy storage, cellular information transfer, and structural support.

Shitake extract is standardized to contain min. 10% polysaccharides.

Recommended dose:
