Description
Taurine 1000 mg, Antioxidant Amino Acid Jarrow Formulas, 100 capsules, Secom
Taurine is an amino acid synthesized in the body from the amino acids cysteine and methionine, in the presence of vitamin B6. Unlike other amino acids, it does not take part in protein synthesis. It is found in high concentrations in the heart muscle, skeletal muscles, white cells, gall bladder, kidneys and in the central nervous system (four times more in the brain of children than in that of adults). It is eliminated from the body through urine, especially in alcoholics and due to lack of zinc. For diabetics, vegetarians or those with genetic or metabolic problems of taurine synthesis, taurine supplementation is necessary.
