Description
Sofargen ® Gel is a medical device in gel form for local application on the skin. Sofargen® water-based gel dressing contains silver sulfladiazine and can be used externally on small wounds and burns. The preparation is also suitable for the topical treatment of skin lesions such as abrasions, scratches, skin irritations and other common dermatological problems.
Sofargen ® Gel - the properties of the ingredients of the gel-based dressing
The Sofargen ® hydrogel formula for use on the skin, due to its high water content (over 95%), ensures adequate wound hydration and supports the natural process of rebuilding damaged tissue. At the same time, thanks to the presence of silver, it creates a barrier that protects the damaged skin against external factors and facilitates the cleaning of the wound from necrotic changes . The presence of silver sulfadiazine - an organometallic compound obtained by the reaction of silver nitrate with sulfadiazine, prevents microbiological contamination of the dressing and protects the wound against exogenous bacteria.
Due to its unique composition, Sofargen ® Gel, when applied to damaged skin, creates favorable conditions for natural healing processes and provides effective protection against microorganisms. Importantly, after application to the wound, the preparation remains at the site of application and does not move when the edges of the wound are stretched. It can be easily removed by washing the wound with saline solution. Importantly, Sofargen ® Gel is an excellent substitute for other hydrogels.
