Liquid soaps with a pump from Dr. Bronner are fine and sensual and do not contain detergents or preservatives. The shikakai ingredient comes from the seeds of an Asian tree called Acadia Concinna and has been used for centuries to clean the skin and hair. In the recipe used, Dr. Bronner uses organic shikakai extracted with the help of sugar and organic grape juice, which he combines with a liquid soap base to obtain a rich, velvety foam with a smoothing effect. All Dr. Bronner's soaps are certified organic under USDA National Organic Program standards.
