Always use this medicine as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Indications:
Reuxen contains naproxen 200 mg which belongs to the group of "non-steroidal anti-inflammatory" drugs (NSAIDs), which includes aspirin, ibuprofen and celecoxib. NSAIDs work by changing the body's response to pain, inflammation and fever.
Reuxen is indicated in the treatment of:
- migraines;
- headache;
- toothaches;
- neuralgia;
- rheumatic pains (arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis), back and muscle pains;
- post-traumatic pain, dislocations, tendinitis;
- in the gout attack;
- menstrual pains;
- reducing fever and cold and flu symptoms.
Composition:
The active substance is: naproxen. One tablet contains 200 mg naproxen. The other components are: l actose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K30, t alc, magnesium stearate, croscarmellose sodium.
Administration method:
Children over 5 years old, with rheumatoid arthritis
- The usual dose is 10 mg/kg body weight every day.
- The dose is divided into two and administered at an interval of 12 hours, during the meal or after the meal.
Grown ups:
Muscular, joint and tendon disorders and for painful periods
- The usual starting dose is 2 Reuxen tablets (400 mg naproxen), followed by one 200 mg Reuxen tablet every 6 to 8 hours as needed.
Arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis
- The usual dose is between 2 - 5 tablets of Reuxen 200 mg (400 - 1000 mg).
- The dose can be taken in a single administration, or divided into two and administered twice a day.
Gout
- The usual starting dose is 4 Reuxen 200 mg tablets (800 mg naproxen), followed by one 200 mg tablet every 8 hours as needed.
Elderly and people with liver and kidney problems
Your doctor will decide the dose to be administered, which will usually be lower than for other adults.
Contraindications:
Do not use REUXEN 200 mg:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to:
- naproxen, sodium naproxen or any of the other components of Reuxen 200 mg
- aspirin, other NSAIDs or other medicines used to treat pain (such as ibuprofen or diclofenac);
Do not use Reuxen if:
- you have or have ever had problems with your stomach or intestines, such as an ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines.
- you have previously had bleeding or perforation in the stomach during treatment with drugs from the NSAID group.
- you have severe problems with your kidneys, liver and heart.
- you are in the last three months of pregnancy.
Do not take Reuxen if any of the above apply to you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Reuxen.
Precautions:
Before using REUXEN, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
Do not take Reuxen if you are in the last three months of pregnancy, as it may harm your baby.
- Talk to your doctor before taking Reuxen if you are up to six months pregnant, think you are pregnant, intend to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. Your doctor will decide whether or not you should take Reuxen.
- Reuxen can make it much more difficult to get pregnant. You must tell your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or if you have problems becoming pregnant.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Reuxen can make you feel tired, sleepy, dizzy, have problems with your vision and balance, depression or difficulty falling asleep. Talk to your doctor if you experience any of the symptoms listed above and do not drive or operate machinery.
