Classic diapers have side bands that allow them to be completely opened and fastened. This is handy when you want to quickly change a wet diaper without removing the baby's pants and shoes.

Panty diapers, on the other hand, have a single waist band, elastic all around, flexible, and their detachment is done by simply tearing the side parts of the diaper, without allowing them to be fastened in place. These are useful for strengthening confidence during potty training, because they will allow the little one to use them like regular panties and learn to use the potty without any help from the parents.
