Orofar, 1 mg/1 mg, 24 lozenges, Stada
Indications:
Orofar can be used as an adjuvant in the treatment of tonsillitis.
Orofar is indicated for adults, children and adolescents aged between 6 and 18 years.
Orofar is available as lozenges, soft capsules and spray and does not irritate the mouth and throat.
Contraindications:
Do not use Orofar:
- if you are allergic to benzoxonium chloride, to other quaternary ammonium compounds, to lidocaine hydrochloride, to other local anesthetic amides or to any of the other components of this medicine.
Precautions:
Before using Orofar, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Orofar has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Administration method:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
In the case of mild-moderate infections, the recommended dose is one Orofar lozenge every 2-3 hours. Let the tablet slowly dissolve in the oral cavity. In the case of severe oropharyngeal infections, the dose can be increased to one Orofar lozenge at 1-2 hour intervals, without exceeding 10 Orofar lozenges in 24 hours.
In the case of canker sores, the lozenge is allowed to dissolve slowly in contact with the lesion.
Do not chew or swallow the tablets.
Do not exceed recommended doses.
Children aged 6-11 years:
Allow a lozenge to dissolve slowly in the oral cavity every 2-3 hours; the dose of 6 oral lozenges per day will not be exceeded.
Use in children:
Orofar is not recommended for use in children under the age of 6, due to the pharmaceutical form.

Composition:
1 tablet contains : Active principle: benzoxone chloride 1 mg, lidocaine hydrochloride 1 mg. Excipients: sorbitol 1 g, saccharin, flavorings. One tablet contains 1 g of sorbitol as an inducer, corresponding to approximately 17 kJ (4 kcal.) and has an orange taste. For diabetics: 10 tablets are equivalent to a portion of fruit.
