Nurofen for children 3+ months 60 mg, 10 suppositories, Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare

Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). These drugs work by changing the way the body responds to pain and high temperature.
Nurofen for children suppositories is used for the symptomatic, short-term treatment of:
- FOOT
- mild to moderate pain.
Nurofen for children suppositories are recommended for use when oral administration is not recommended, for example in case of vomiting.
Nurofen for children is recommended for children with a body weight between 6 kg (3 months) and 12.5 kg (2 years).
Composition:
The active substance is ibuprofen; one suppository contains ibuprofen 60 mg.
Administration method:
- Always use Nurofen for children suppositories as indicated in this leaflet
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
- Nurofen for children suppositories should only be used for children older than 3 months, weighing at least 6.0 kg
- The maximum total daily dose of ibuprofen is 20-30 mg per kg of body weight, divided into 3 to 4 single doses
- For children you can use the following guidelines (the child's body weight is more important here than age):
6 – 8 kg (from 3 to 9 months) - 1 suppository - If necessary, another suppository, at the earliest after 6–8 hours, No more than 3 suppositories in any 24 hour interval
8 – 12.5 kg (from 9 months to 2 years) - 1 suppository - If necessary, another suppository, at the earliest after 6 hours, No more than 4 suppositories in any 24 hour interval
- For children between the ages of 3-5 months, medical advice should be sought whether symptoms worsen or not later than 24 hours if symptoms persist.
Contraindications:
Do not use Nurofen for children suppositories:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen or other similar pain relievers (NSAIDs) or to any of the other components of Nurofen for children suppositories
- if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
- if for children weighing less than 6.0 kg (under 3 months of age).
Precautions:
Before using Nurofen for children suppositories, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine
Task:
- Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while using Nurofen for children suppositories
- Do not use this medicine if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
- Avoid using this medicine during the first 6 months of pregnancy, unless your doctor advises you otherwise.
Lactation:
- You can use this medicine during breastfeeding if it is used in the recommended dose and for the shortest possible time.
Fertility:
- This medicine belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that can affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible upon discontinuation of the drug.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
In the short term, the use of this medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
