Description
Metafen antispastic 40 mg is an antispastic drug containing the active substance drotaverine, a derivative of papaverine. It has a diastolic effect on smooth muscle, that is, it affects smooth muscle regardless of its innervation.
Metafen antispasmodic 40 mg 40 tablets - indications
- smooth muscle spasms associated with diseases of the biliary tract: gallstones and bile ducts, cholecystitis,
- spasms of the smooth muscles of the urinary tract: kidney stones, inflammation of the renal pelvis, cystitis, painful need to urinate,
- as an adjuvant in the case of spasms of the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract: in gastric and duodenal ulcers, in spastic affections of the cardia and pylorus of the stomach, in irritable bowel syndrome, in spastic constipation and intestinal flatulence,
- useful in painful menstruation.
Metafen antispasmodic 40 mg 40 tablets is in the form of tablets containing 40 mg of drotaverine hydrochloride. The drug has an antispasmodic (spasmolytic) effect on smooth muscles. Its spasmolytic effect is associated with a direct effect on smooth muscles and is independent of the type of innervation.
The recommended dose of the medicine is: for adults up to 6 tablets per day in 2-3 doses, for children 6-12 years up to 2 tablets in 2 doses, for children over 12 years up to 4 tablets in 2-4 doses.
The package contains 40 tablets placed in a cardboard package.
