Description
The medicine contains magnesium in combination with vitamin B6. In the human body, magnesium is mainly found inside the cell, it slows neuromuscular transmission and reduces nerve irritability. Lack of magnesium also affects the psychological state, causing increased sensitivity and irritability or, on the contrary, fatigue and drowsiness. Vitamin B6 participates in many metabolic processes, for example, it can favorably affect the entry and retention of magnesium in the cell.
A combination of several of the symptoms below may indicate magnesium deficiency:
- Nervousness, irritability, mild anxiety, temporary fatigue, mild sleep disturbances
- Anxiety symptoms such as gastrointestinal cramps or palpitations (no heart problems)
- Muscle spasms, numbness
Magnesium supplementation may alleviate the above symptoms.
Dosage and dosage regimens
1 vial of oral solution contains 936 mg of magnesium pidolate, 186 mg of magnesium lactate dihydrate and 10 mg of pyridoxine chloride (vitamin B6). Contains 100 mg of Mg2+, equivalent to 4.12 mmol.
Adults: 3-4 ampoules per day, divided into 2-3 daily doses. Children and infants with body weight over 10 kg: 10-30 mg/kg/day, divided into 2-3 daily doses.
Treatment should be stopped after reaching normal magnesium values. If within 1 month the patient does not feel better or if he feels worse, he should consult a doctor.
Mode of use
The contents of the ampoule should be diluted with half a glass of water and drunk, preferably during a meal.
Warning
During pregnancy, due to the magnesium content, the drug should be administered only in necessary cases. The daily dose during pregnancy should not exceed 10 mg of vitamin B6, i.e. 1 ampoule. During breastfeeding, the maximum recommended dose of vitamin B6 is 20 mg (2 ampoules) per day. The medicine is intended for children and infants after reaching a weight of 10 kg. The drug is contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml/min). In case of renal impairment, the drug should be administered with caution due to the risk of hypermagnesemia. It is necessary to avoid the simultaneous administration of the mentioned drug and drugs based on phosphorus and calcium salts (these compounds inhibit the absorption of magnesium in the intestine). In the case of a current lack of calcium, it is necessary to first correct the lack of magnesium and only then to take additional calcium. If the drug is used at the same time as oral tetracyclines, it should be taken at least 3 hours after the tetracycline. Store up to 25 °C in the original package in order to protect from light.
