Description
Laremid ® is a drug in the form of tablets with antidiarrheal properties. The indication for use is the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea of various origins. The drug can be used in adults and children over 6 years of age to reduce the number and volume of stools and to increase their consistency in patients with ileal fistula.
Laremid® – active ingredients
The active substance of Laremid® is loperamide hydrochloride ( Loperamidi hydrochloridum ). The mechanism of action of the drug is to prolong the passage time of food through the digestive tract and reduce the excretion of water and electrolytes. Loperamide increases the resting tone of the anal sphincter, thereby inhibiting the immediate urge to defecate. The effect of the drug is to reduce the frequency and number of bowel movements.
