Furaginum Max US Pharmacia is a medicine in the form of tablets for oral administration. The active substance of the drug is furazidine - a derivative of nitrofuran, formerly called furagin.
How do furagin tablets work for urinary tract infections?
Furazidin has a bacteriostatic effect. It inhibits the development of sensitive Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria that cause lower urinary tract infections, including Escherichia , Klebsiella , Proteus . It has the strongest effect in an acidic environment (pH 5.5). Each tablet contains furazidine 100 mg.
The indication for the use of Furaginum Max US Pharmacia 100 mg is the treatment of uncomplicated acute and recurrent infections of the lower urinary tract in adults and adolescents over 15 years of age.
The drug Furaginum Max US Pharmacia 100 mg should be taken orally during meals containing protein, which increases the bioavailability of nitrofuran derivatives.
