Description
Folic is a drug in the form of tablets whose active substance is vitamin B folic acid. Pregnant and lactating women have an increased need for folic acid. Satisfying the increased demand only through diet is practically impossible, and folic acid deficiency during this period can lead to congenital defects of the central nervous system and of the face in the newborn. An increased dose of folic acid is recommended for women at least 1 month before the intended conception and during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
