Flonidan, 10 tablets, Sandoz

Indications:
Flonidan 10 mg contains the active substance loratadine, which belongs to a class of drugs known as antihistamines. Different substances (mediators) are released during allergic reactions, leading to the development of allergic disease symptoms.
Histamine is one of the most important mediators in allergic reactions. Flonidan 10 mg inhibits the action of histamine, thus demonstrating a strong anti-allergic activity.
Flonidan 10 mg relieves the following symptoms determined by histamine: itching, redness, sweating and nasal secretions.
The action of the medicine starts within 30 minutes of ingestion and lasts for approximately 24 hours.
Flonidan 10 mg is recommended in the prevention and treatment of:
-seasonal allergic rhinitis (sneezing, abundant nasal discharge or nasal itching, stinging or eye itching);
-chronic urticaria (itching) and other skin allergies

Composition:
- The active substance is loratadine. Each tablet contains 10 mg of loratadine.

Mode of administration:
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Always take Flonidan 10 mg as recommended below. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: take one Flonidan 10 mg tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food.
Patients with severe liver disease:
For adults and children aged 6-12 years and weighing more than 30 kg: one tablet every other day, with a glass of water, with or without food
Elderly patients or those with impaired renal function do not require dose reduction

Use in children:
Children aged between 6 and 12 years and weighing more than 30 kg: take one Flonidan 10 mg tablet once a day with a glass of water, with or without food.
Children aged between 6 and 12 years and weighing less than 30 kg:
Flonidan 10 mg tablets is not recommended for children weighing less than 30 kg.
In children aged between 2 and 6 years, other age-appropriate pharmaceutical forms (eg syrup) are recommended.
Flonidan 10 mg is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.

Contraindications:
Do not take Flonidan 10 mg:
- if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other components of this medicine.

Precautions:
Before taking Flonidan 10 mg consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If you have severe liver failure.
The administration of Flonidan 10 mg must be stopped at least 48 hours before performing skin tests, because antihistamines can prevent or reduce positive reactions of dermal reactivity

Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, the use of Flonidan is not recommended.
Loratadine is excreted in breast milk.

Driving vehicles and using machines:
At the recommended dose, Flonidan does not influence the ability to drive vehicles and use machines.
However, very rarely, drowsiness may occur in some people, which could influence the ability to drive vehicles or use machines.
