Allantoin is a biocomponent of plant origin. Included in cosmetic compositions, it is a skin regeneration and repair factor, contributes to collagen synthesis, accelerates healing and protects the skin from irritating factors. Allantoin can be found in many cosmetic preparations intended for both adults and babies and children, being also suitable for the care of sensitive, delicate skin.

How it is used in cosmetics:
- allantoin is a product that should not be used as such on the skin, only as an ingredient included in cosmetic preparations;
- indicative dosage 0.1 - 2%;
- allantoin is soluble in water up to a maximum dosage of 0.5%;
- as an ingredient in the preparation of cosmetics that also contain water: emulsions, lotions, gels, masks, deodorants, aftershaves, hygiene products;
- for an easy incorporation into gels or creams, it is recommended to mix beforehand with a little water or part of the composition until a homogeneous paste is formed;
- in emulsions and compositions that are prepared by heating, allantoin is usually included in the final phase;
- it can also be included in melt&pour soaps.
