Cosmetic active known for its anti-wrinkle, exfoliating effect, stimulating skin cell renewal, fading wrinkles and pigment spots. Exclusively vegetable composition obtained from fruits.
Fruit acids (or AHA) allow the creation of preparations that bring a series of benefits to any skin type. Due to the exfoliating effect and the action of cell regeneration, they are used in cosmetic preparations to reduce wrinkles, even out the complexion, increase the brightness of the skin, renew the skin, fade pigment spots and alleviate skin irregularities.
The term "AHA" denotes alpha hydroxyl acids (Alpha Hydroxy Acides). They are mainly derived from fruit sugars. The main acids in fruits are lactic, malic, glycolic, citric and tartaric acids.
The best known are glycolic and lactic acids because they have a special ability to penetrate the skin and are currently used for the exfoliating effect (peeling). Exfoliating preparations rejuvenate the skin, restore the glow of the skin, remove surface imperfections, improve pigment spots, reduce the depth of wrinkles, help oily or problem skin.
Fruit acids favor cell renewal, but are equally known for increasing skin elasticity and stimulating collagen production. A remarkable property is the fact that AHA contributes to the neutralization of damage caused by UV rays.
Various studies indicate that the regular long-term application (4 - 6 months) of AHA favors the disappearance of fine wrinkles, diminishing the depth of deep ones and brightening the color of hyperpigmented areas.
Contrary to retinoic acid, which is a strong peeling agent and can cause burns, fruit acids are generally well tolerated by the skin.

Way of ussage:
- usual dosage recommended in cosmetic compositions 1-2% for regular long-term applications, up to 10% for exfoliation;
- do not apply undiluted in any case;
- more sensitive skin can tolerate AHA if it starts with a low concentration, which increases progressively;
- it can be included in creams, lotions, gels, masks, shampoos, toners, aqueous serums;
- in emulsions, it is added to the final phase, cold;
- always measure the pH of compositions that have fruit acids as an ingredient and adjust as necessary.
