Description
Vegetable chips with sea salt, 115 g, SaMai
The vegetables are naturally ripened, then they are picked by hand and the most beautiful pieces are selected. It is then transported to the processing plant, which is located right next to the plantations, so that the raw materials remain as fresh as possible. Once at the factory, the vegetables are sorted, peeled and sliced. After that, they are fried until crispy in pure non-hydrogenated vegetable oil, preserving the natural flavor and nutrient-rich character of the ingredients.
Characteristics:
Manihot (Manihot Esculenta), also known as cassava or yucca, is a nutrient-rich root native to South America. It is consumed in many tropical and subtropical regions around the world. Cassava root contains significant amounts of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin C. Cassava starch pellets are also known as tapioca.
Plataina (cooking banana) is a type of banana that is eaten boiled, steamed and fried. Due to its high nutritional content, it is considered a staple food in many coastal areas of South America, Africa and Asia.
Why did we choose non-hydrogenated palm oil?
Only non-hydrogenated palm oil (palmolein) is used for cassava roasting. This less saturated (more liquid) oil is extracted from the oil palm fruit by cooking and pressing. No chemicals are used during the process. Unlike palm kernel oil and coconut oil, palmolein contains fewer saturated components.
Like all vegetable oils, palmolein does not contain cholesterol and, because it does not require hydrogenation, it does not contain trans fats. Rich in tocopherol and tocotrienol (vitamin E). Red palm oil is the best natural source of beta-carotene (provitamin A).
Palmolein was selected for the preparation of SAMAI products based on the following key factors:
The fatty acids in palm oil are perfectly balanced, ensuring that the oil remains stable even at high temperatures.
Oil palms are grown in the same region, the Ecuadorian tropics, as the other ingredients. In this way, fresh oil is used while contributing to the development of the local economy.
Last but not least, the oil used comes from plantations outside protected rainforests. Palm trees cover their surroundings with a green canopy, which allows the development of many plants and organisms. By absorbing carbon dioxide, they are more effective at cleaning the air than soybean plantations.
Only sea salt is used for seasoning. Contains no added sugar, artificial flavor enhancers, flavors, colors or monosodium glutamate (MSG). Thus, completely natural flavors are guaranteed.
The chips are packed under strictly controlled conditions to preserve the freshness and excellent quality of the product.
