Description
Calcivid, 30 tablets, Beres Pharmaceuticals Co
The medicine is a combination of calcium (in the form of calcium carbonate) and cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3).
- For the prevention and complementary treatment of conditions with decreased bone mineral density;
- In children, puberty and young adults for proper bone formation;
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
- During and after the onset of menopause;
- In elderly people;
- In case of insufficient intake of dairy products.
CalciviD film-coated tablets are not recommended:
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substances or to any of the other components of CalciviD film-coated tablets;
- If you have kidney stones;
- If you have kidney failure;
- If you have high values of calcium in the urine or high values of the concentration of calcium in the blood, which persist for a long time;
- CalciviD film-coated tablets contain hydrogenated soybean oil. If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, do not use this medicine.
Ingredients:
- Cholecalciferol 400 IU (as cholecalciferol powder 100,000 IU/g), Calcium 600 mg (as calcium carbonate 95%) and excipients for one film-coated tablet.

- Vitamin D3 400 IU
Way of ussage:
Prophylactic: Adults and children over 10 years: 1 tablet/day.
Adjunctive therapy: 2 tablets/day.
It is recommended to administer a film-coated tablet 1-1.5 hours after meals, with a cup of water, tea or natural fruit juice, without chewing. If necessary, the tablet can be divided.
Special warnings:
- A 2-hour break is recommended between the administration of CalciviD film-coated tablets and the ingestion of foods with a high vegetable fiber content. The latter considerably decrease the absorption of calcium.
- Concomitant administration with other products containing calcium and vitamin D3 is avoided, to prevent excessive intake and to prevent the possibility of a serum calcium level above the physiological one.
- During pregnancy or breastfeeding, CalciviD is administered only on the recommendation of the pediatrician.
- In the case of administration of large doses (acute intoxication), hypercalciuria and hypercalcemia appear, manifested by: nausea, vomiting, polydipsia, polyuria, constipation.
- Chronic overdose with vitamin D3 can lead to the development of vascular and tissue calcifications due to hypercalcemia.
This medicine can be dispensed without a prescription. It is recommended to carefully read the leaflet or the information on the packaging. Keep out of reach of children.
